Italian Drawings from the Museum of Grenoble (XV - XVIII centuries

The Museum of Grenoble began to study and publish the 3500 old drawings (fifteenth to eighteenth century) preserved in its collections, with each year over three years, a selection of the most representative works of this funds. A fund that had remained largely untapped and largely unpublished. In 2010, the first step of this process will be devoted to Italy and will discover nearly 120 drawings from art place of the peninsula.
From spring 2010, and the continuity of this study, the museum present the first part of a triptych devoted to collections of drawings ex: starting with the Italian drawings, and during the two years following the French and Nordic.
To conduct this work, a committee Science has been formed comprising experts from each school of Art. In all, it will be nearly 3,500 works to be studied and put on the network. At each stage an exhibition and publication of works most mark the remarkable progress of this project. In flesh and spirit devoted to Italian drawings will be the first step.
From the Renaissance to the late eighteenth century, Venice, Bologna and Milan Naples, the Italian collection of Grenoble offers a rich and diverse panorama of all ages and all regional schools.
